Creating Placements

Step-by-step

  1. Once logged into the Console, select the ad unit that you would like to generate a Placement for.
  2. Select the Traffic Tab.
  3. Select Placement and click on Make New to create a new Placement. From here you will be able to name your Placement, as well as set Placement Properties
  4. Click Save All to save your settings. Select the desired placements you would like to generate tags for and click Generate Tags.

NOTE

Set up tag settings on either Tag Defaults setting or Placement setting. See Tag Defaults Info below for details.

Placement Properties

Placement properties include:

  • Placement ID - system-generated ID
  • Render Mode - How you want the ad to display on the page
  • Click Tracking - Placement-level click tracking
  • Tracking Pixel - Placement-level impression tracking
  • Open Links - action to open within same window, different window, layer defaults, or tag defaults setting
  • Z-Index - Placement-level z-index setting
  • Initial Script - apply 3rd-party JS tag (This option needs to be enabled by account)
  • Permalink - preview ad for Placement
  • Backup Image - set up Placement-level backup image and clickthrough URL (this overwrites default level backup image setting)

Tag Defaults Info

Within the Traffic tab, you will notice default settings within Tag Defaults. These settings are the global ad-level settings that will be applicable to the final ad tag, unless overridden within the Placement settings.

  • Render Mode - How you want the ad to display on the page
  • Click Tracking URL - apply 3rd-party click tracking to the ad unit.
  • Tracking Pixel - apply 3rd-party impression tracking to the ad unit.
  • Links - manage 'click out' action of the ad. Select between same window and new window.
  • Z-Index - enable editing of z-index value for the ad. Default z-index is 4001.
  • Initial Script - apply 3rd party JS tag (i.e. Dynamic Logic survey tag).
